We've had a pre-summer heat wave for the past few days, it's been in the low 90's! Hot enough to fill the pool and go for a swim!! It makes me realize that summer is just around the corner!!

"We Like Sheep"

Today was another busy (and HOT) day! Our children's choir presented its spring musical called "We Like Sheep." The kids dressed as sheep, the boys were "Rams" and the girls were "Ewes." The musical tells the story of how we are all sheep and how much our shepherd loves us!! Months of hard work practicing paid off and all the kids did an awesome job!

One of these days I'll get the proper firewire cable to upload video to our blog so you can see some of the songs!

Happy Birthday Emily!!!

We celebrated Emily's birthday today with a busy and exciting day!!! Pancakes and presents in the morning.... Soccer in the afternoon... (sorry no pics of that...it was 93 degrees here today and too hot!) Here is our annual "hold up how many fingers you are turning" picture!
After soccer we came home for a puppy themed birthday party with a few of Em's closest girl friends (and Nathan!)

When we realized every party guest coming had a puppy of their own at home we thought it would be fun to make homemade dog treats. We cut them out with a cute bone shaped cookie cutter and each girl got to take a bag home. Princess taste tested them and highly approved!

We also had fun with "Emily's Puppy Adoption Center" where each child got to adopt a stuffed dog and make a birth certificate for it.
We had an "eat like a puppy contest" where they gobbled down cheerios...I won't tell who won...but you can guess it's the child laying flat on his stomach with his feet in the air!!
Time for cake!!

After the party we went out for dinner (Red Robin), Emily's choice and bowling!!!

At the end of a very long, fun, and HOT day, this is how they looked when we pulled into the garage!

Soccer & Sleepovers

Today was Nathan's first soccer game of the season, they have been playing for a few weeks but due to rain-outs and Easter weekend this was their first time to play. Nathan's new favorite position is goalie, he did a great job blocking every attempt except for one that was way over his head! Our team won 4-2! Nathan made one of the goals to help the team win!
The weather has been glorious this weekend, it hit 80 degrees today! Lots of playing and eating outside!!

Emily's sweet friend Natalia is spending the day with us and the girls are having a sleepover. They are having a ball!
Dave has just been hangin' around...

Today's Home Ec Lesson...Dirt!

For today's home economics lesson the kids are making Dirt! We have friends coming over later and we thought it would be a yummy treat. We serve it in a flower pot & scoop it out with a shovel (both of which are clean and never used for their original purposes).

Smashing up the cookies...
Beating the filling.. (important lesson learned by Nathan today, DO NOT lift the beaters out of the bowl while beating on high speed!)
The finished product... the pic is a little dark, but those are gummy worms sticking in the top of it.

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter everyone!! Hallelujah, He Is Risen!!! Hope you enjoy some photos from our day!

Easter Baskets...I made one for the baby just in case "the call" came this week...obviously it didn't...but that's okay we'll put it in their room and open it when they get here!

Grandma & Paw Paw always have the best egg hunt at their house!! They hide money in their eggs!!!!

"Hunting & Planting"

We invited the neighbors over today for a backyard egg hunt and the kids had a great time hunting eggs! Aren't these suction cup eggs neat??
After the hunt we worked on spreading 2 yards of dirt/compro in the garden...

...then started planting our seeds!!! Our next step is to enclose it with some sort of fencing so we get to eat more than the deer this year...

Spring Break Fun!

Our testing week is over and we are enjoying a few days off for Spring Break. It was such a beautiful day we packed up and spent the afternoon at the park!

Emily does this silly trick with Princess where she holds a treat in her mouth and commands her to sit, stay, and then come and get it out of her mouth! It's silly and she will only do it with Emily! She loves that crazy dog!
