THANK YOU!

We want to send out a big, heartfelt "Thank You" to everyone who sent us pledges and donations for our adoption "rock-a-thon" fundraiser. So far we have received $ 1,035!!! We've had a few more donations come in during the past few days, so hopefully our grand total will go even higher! Thank for all your prayers and support!

10 HOURS!!!!

It's 6:00 and we are officially done rocking...we made it 10 hours!!! We are so thankful to each and every one of you that made a pledge or donation towards this precious life that will become a special part of our family. We'll tally up the pledges in the next few days and let you know what the grand total raised was! Thanks again for your prayers and support, we love you all!

Update for the rock-a-thon

I have added a Donation button to the right for those of you who are willing and able to donate and help us in our adoption process. We thank each one of you who have so generously given to us. If God lays it upon your hearts to give, we ask that you do so prayerfully. We know that God will bless your efforts and we Praise Him for what He has done for us through our Family and Friends.
Thank you all (ya'll) so much!

3:50...

Jen and Nathan have recruited the neighbors to help in the rock-a-thon....It's almost 3:50 and we have rocked almost 8 hours. Well the clouds have passed, the sun is out and we have been blessed with a beautiful day. It is in the high 80's with little humidity. We had our doubts at first, with the cloud cover and a few sprinkles while I was cutting the grass, but this day has been absolutely gorgeous!

2:50

Wow, the past few hours have flown by..we had lunch on the porch...the kids sat & the grownups rocked. All of our neighbors have stopped down to visit...very cool!

11:45

The kids and I are rocking, and playing Phase 10 (Dave is cutting the grass)! What a fun and relaxing day this will be...

10:37

The time is 10:37 and Dave and I are rocking for a bit... it's very overcast and cloudy...we may be rocking in the rain soon!

Second Shift...

It's 9:20 and the kiddos are rocking for a little while!!!

Rock-a-thon is under way!

I am so thankful to have stores around here that are so generous to do this every few months, it really helps us stretch our grocery budget and stock up on the essentials (and have a few treats we normally wouldn't buy!) Total cost for these items before coupons... $ 104.06...after coupons $ 22.02!!! I'll take groceries at 80% off any day!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary! It is amazing to me how 12 years of life can fly so quickly...there really are days when it "seems like only yesterday." I am so thankful to be married to my best friend, to have a husband that loves me so unconditionally (even when I mess up..and boy, do I mess up sometimes), who is strong where I am weak, and makes me want to be a better person, and puts the Lord first in his life. I am so blessed to have spent 12 years of my life with you and can't wait to see where the next 12 years take us.

Visit with the Hunt's!

Our good friends from MD the Hunt's came for a visit on Thursday and Friday on their way to a family reunion. We had a great time catching up...

The "girls" - Ashley, Emily and Noelle

Nathan and Dylan had a blast playing together..they have been buddies since they were 2 years old and in nursery together. You can't see it too well in the picture, but there is a jump rope connecting the jeep and the scooter, they were towing each other around.

The grownups played a fierce game of Monopoly... we won't mention who won... we'll just say there were two unhappy men at the end of this game!!

We Love Ya, Hunt Family!!

Busy...

Okay, so I've been a bad blogger lately, partly because there has not been much exciting to blog about, we have just been plain old busy! Dave has been working alot and I've been working on some summer projects... catching up on some scrapbooking, organizing, and planning out our curriculum for the upcoming school year. We're also working on turning part of our bonus room into a 4th bedroom for our new addition! Dave is doing the work a little bit at a time, when we have the extra time and money. :)

Our "rock-a-thon" adoption fundraiser is set for Saturday, July 26, we have been so blessed to already receive some donations! We are getting excited for our day of rocking on the front porch!

Here's a little scooter action from the driveway this evening.... the kids are enjoying their summer...staying up late, sleeping late, swimming and lots of playtime!

Sidewalk Painting!

Here's a neat idea from the "Family Fun" magazine we tried this morning... homemade, non-toxic sidewalk paint. It was way cooler (and cheaper) that plain old sidewalk chalk!
Here's the recipe in case you need a fun summer "I'm bored!" activity...
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
6-8 drops food coloring

Stir all ingredients... Happy Summer!
