Our garden is officially planted! We spent last weekend tilling and spreading the compro and got all the seeds in yesterday. Hopefully in a few months we'll be feasting on some good squash, zucchini, lettuce, tomatoes, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, onions, beans, peas, and watermelon.
On the adoption front we are now in the fun part of the paperwork... applications, insurance and financial verification, medical information, background checks, fingerprints, and lots of other exciting things. We've heard other adoptive families affectionately calling this the "paperwork pregnancy"... I'll take mountains of paperwork over morning sickness and tiredness any day!!
Nathan played his first soccer games today, he had a double dose with two games this morning. It was 50 degrees with probably a 20 mph wind, and some drizzling rain toward the end...very cold!!! Hard to believe it was 82 degrees yesterday! Given the cold temps and my freezing fingers, no photos were taken of this first game.

BIG NEWS!!!!
Exciting news for the McClard Family....we are adopting!!! When Dave and I first married we always talked about the dream of having our own children and then someday adding to our family by adoption. The Lord started working in our hearts about a year ago telling us now was the time, we have spent much time as a family on our knees the past few months about the decision of where adopt from. We were very strongly considering travelling to Ethiopia for our next family member, but we could not shake the burden in our hearts for African American and Bi-Racial babies born right here in Raleigh that need the love of a family.
With all that being said, we have been accepted by Amazing Grace Adoptions, a Christian adoption agency here in Raleigh that will be handling our adoption. We are all very excited, especially Nathan & Emily who can't wait for a new baby brother or sister! We feel so blessed that the Lord adopted us into His family and are excited to share His love to another child.
We ask for your prayers as we embark on this journey, adoption can be a long and costly process, but we have faith that if God has called us to do this He will provide!

Resurrection Rolls
I heard about these a few years ago, we think they are really neat and it has become our tradition each year to make them right before Easter.
You take a large marshmallow (this represents Jesus' body), dip it in melted butter and a cinnamon & sugar mixture (this represents the embalming process).
Next, wrap each marshmallow in a crescent roll (this represents wrapping his body in the linen cloths).
Then, place them in a 350 degree oven (also known as "the tomb") for 10-12 minutes (or 3 days as we pretend here, this is also a great time to read the Easter story). When you take them out the marshmallow has vanished!!
